Biography

Bernie Roux

Bernie Roux is an internationally acclaimed and award-winning director in the film and animation industry. His unique outlook on art direction, casting, and shot selection is sculpted by years as a traditional animator.

He is known for his spots that showcase a slice of life and are layered with multidimensional and slightly flawed characters. Using interesting camera techniques, such as slow-motion, he presents his story-driven spots in a beautiful, cinematic light.

His awards include a Bronze Lion at Cannes in the film category, a Silver Clio in New York & a Bronze Wood Pencil at the D&AD awards in London to name a few. He has directed commercials and campaigns for KFC, Unilever, ING, Cadbury’s, LEGO, Ferrero, MERCK, Samsonite, Mitsubishi Electric, IKEA, Coca-Cola, Target, Pier 1, ChildLine, Yakult, Nestlé, Fanta, and Amazon.

Originally from South Africa, Bernie has lived and worked around the world, from Auckland to Moscow, Johannesburg to Mumbai, London to Stockholm, and now currently resides in New York City.
